CollabraSpace Demonstrates Secure, Web-Based Collaboration At The DoD Intelligence Information Systems (DoDIIS) Conference

Annapolis, Md. — May 13, 2005 —CollabraSpace, a leading provider of web-based collaboration solutions for government and commercial enterprises, showcased its latest collaboration solution at the annual Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems conference in Philadelphia PA from 25 to 28 April. The solution, which allows intelligence analysts and other knowledge professionals to establish and participate in secure, dynamic collaboration sessions, is already deployed on several DOD networks. The conference, sponsored by the Office of the CIO of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), attracted over 900 attendees from industry, government and academia serving the DoDIIS community.

Unlike typical solutions that function as individual applications, CollabraSuite - the CollabraSpace suite of JAVA collaboration components, integrates key applications and business processes into a secure, collaborative environment. This environment enables the dynamic and contextual integration of people, processes and data. Throughout the conference, attendees and exhibitors participated in the web based demonstration of the collaboration solution in a real world scenario. The demonstration showed how intelligence analysts can make maximum use of shared white boards, document storage and exchange, text chat, paging, expert finder, among other collaborative functions.

"Our technology allows intelligence analysts and knowledge professionals to collaborate and leverage enterprise wide data, applications and intellectual capital to solve complex problems." said Ray Schwemmer, President and CEO of CollabraSpace. "By allowing these professionals to establish and participate in secure, collaboration sessions with just a web browser, we are bringing collaboration to the desk top and to the PDA. The response we received at the DoDIIS show was a strong validation that our technology and solution offerings are on the right track."

The company will showcase more innovative solutions at the upcoming Information Sharing/Homeland Security Show on June 27 in New Orleans.

Effective Border Management Through Collaboration
Since September 11, 2001, many federal agencies, including the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) have been charged with improving inter- and intradepartmental communication to counter threats to homeland security and are required to involve state and local governments and the private sector. Such joint operational planning and coordination during execution is required for effective border management, and maximizing the effectiveness of operations requires collaboration.Download PDF (94K)
