CollabraSpace Certified for Department of Defense Collaboration Solutions
Company Successfully Passes Test for the Joint Interoperability Test Command's Defense Collaboration Tool Suite
Annapolis, Md. December 1, 2004 CollabraSpace™, a leading provider of web-based collaboration solutions for government organizations and private entities, today announced that CollabraSuite V3.4 has been awarded certification by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) to be included in the Defense Collaboration Tool Suite (DCTS), signaling that the company's product has met all interoperability requirements and is certified for use on Department of Defense (DoD) networks.
According to the final report, CollabraSpace's CollabraSuite 3.4 "satisfies all critical interoperability requirements" for DCTS collaboration solutions.
"World events are dictating a greater need for secure, web-based team collaboration tools that are customizable and able to be rapidly deployed," states Ray Schwemmer, CollabraSpace president and CEO. "The DCTS certification is solidly in line with our company's strategy of providing federal government agencies such as NGA, NSA, DIA, FBI, and DHS with the collaboration tools and solutions they need to work efficiently and effectively."
CollabraSpace tools and technologies are designed to accommodate custom collaboration solutions. Each tool can be configured as a separate component and combined in a way that makes sense for individual organizations. Collectively, the components are known as CollabraSuite, a set of graphical building blocks that can be used in a web-based portal or to create a Java application.
CollabraSuite V3.4 features enhanced audio/video capabilities, superior security on document sharing, retrieval and storage, and an undocking feature to improve mobility options. Additional individual components of CollabraSuite include: instant messaging, navigation, paging, online user display, whiteboarding, and a lightweight HTML-style note editor.
DCTS was formed as a result of a 1999 congressional mandate that was to address the lack of interoperability compatibility among collaboration tools used by the Department of Defense and other government organizations. Today, collaboration products are tested against DCTS standards for certification. Using DCTS as the standard baseline, the Collaboration Management Office (CMO) is moving towards a family of interoperable, standards-based products from multiple vendors, which have been certified to interoperate securely.
