About the job:

Work as an Embedded System Designer as part of a development team which utilizes a diverse, dynamic workforce, including many experts in their field. Duties will include: Work to establish, capture and evolve architecture to meet all customer requirements in a very dynamic environment; create clean design, implementation with emphasis on early testing through unit and integration tests; and work with team to evolve team processes and best practices.


  • 5+ years’ experience as a system engineer supporting software architecture development, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and software integration in a Linux environment
  • Practical experience with Cavium Octeon product line of Network Processors
  • Proficiency in RedHat Linux – CentOS and Enterprise versions (evidenced in resume)
  • Demonstrated knowledge with scripting languages such as Perl and Bash
  • Familiar with XML and schema definitions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of optial signal specifications to include SDH, SONET, OTN, and GE
  • In depth knowledge of network protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to use network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark
  • Familiar with Optical Networking Equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to use test equipment
  • Demonstrated understanding of command and control of low level custom VHDL Designs
  • Experience with various Configuration Management tools such as Git, Gerrit, and Subversion.
  • C / C++ experience
  • JSON experience
  • MySQL database experience
  • Practical understanding of Virtual Machines
  • Clearance:  Applicants must be U.S. Citizens possessing an active TS/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.

Additional Desired Experience:

  • Experience with Puppet
